We're married!!!!

Well we are now a married couple! Boy what a wild weekend we had to get there.Let's start with Friday shall we:
My sister in law and I had a busy morning planned because she needed a corset/shaper for under her dress. We hoped that something that like would help her with the dress, and it didn't. We came to the conclusion that even though it said size 26 on the dress, it was actually a size 20. So we just put that dress aside and went in search of another dress. We got lucky finally at around 400-430pm that day to find the dress in Lane Bryant, and it was a size 22, and it fit great. So by this time it's around 5pm in Montgomery, so we are stuck in rush hour madness!! We are supposed to go home, get things for the rehearsal still, and be at the church by 6pm!! Needless to say my stress was through the roof, and I was beginning to feel like I was going to lose my mind. To top it all off the dinner I had ordered from Jim N' Nick's was running late. They were supposed to have it ready for pick up at 530pm, so I sent Nick up there for that, and he wound up having to wait over 20 minutes for dinner to be finished!! I'm almost in basket case mode by now because everyone is running late, and I hate being late for something that I planned to start at 6pm. Well in the end we all managed to get there, get the rehearsal done, and have some good bbq, and had a great time visiting with friends and family. I still didn't go to bed until after midnight because I was trying to make sure I had stuff ready for Saturday because I knew I wasn't going to be late that day!
So Saturday morning I was at my hair and makeup appointment on time, and my bridesmaids were with me. It was a great time, and I was so glad to just relax for a bit. Then the phone calls and texts started coming in with questions. I will say that by the time we were done with all the hair and makeup we were running on time and things were looking good. Then the chaos started!!! Other people were running behind, and not at the church yet, and we had no flowers or candleabras at the church!!! Also the cake wasn't at the reception yet, but that was minor because I knew that wasn't going to be delivered until 2pm at least. So we all managed to get things going on time, and took a bunch of pictures with my family, friends, and my groom. Big problem though, no flowers still!!!
I can honestly say I have no idea why my flowers never made it to my wedding or reception, and I doubt I'll ever know. I can thank my stars for my brother though. He took the car keys and drove to Wal-Mart and got us a bunch of fake poinsettas and we made fake flower bouquets for myself and the bridesmaids. So he saved the day, even though I told everyone that if I didn't have flowers I was going to carry my great grandmother's beaded clutch down the aisle.
Oh and before you ask, yes I did have the something old, something borrrowed, something new, and something blue.
The pictures were so much fun, my photographer was amazing and so much fun. I can't wait until we get to see them!!
So the wedding started on time, and we had a handful of family and friends there. My nephew provided us with some impromptu comedy. As soon as we said our vows he peers around Nick and says, "aunt Heather are you married now?" Then when we went to do the sand ceremony he followed us over there and watched what we were doing very closely. I know his mom was praying he wouldn't try to pick up any of the sand vases.
After it was all said and done we had a wonderful wedding!! Then on to the reception, and let me tell everyone it was so much fun!! I loved spending time with everyone, and meeting some new people. We ate, danced, and watched the kids do the best dancing in the world.
So life is good, and now we are ready to start the next chapter together with our son. Hopefully as soon as Christmas gets here we will be able to move into our new place. I'm more than ready for that!!
Oh and may I just say that my son remained his happy fun self while all the crazy stuff was going on. The only time he freaked out was when at the wedding he couldn't get to me or his daddy while we were in clear sight of him. He really had a blast at the reception, so much so that he even fell asleep during the dancing!

The 30 days of Thanksgiving

I know a lot of friends on facebook posted something to be thankful for everyday. I tried to post it on facebook everyday, but I don't slow down a lot right now, so some days didn't get the proper "I'm thankful for" attention. So I decided to put them all on my blog tonight. Yes I should be in bed, but I took a nap today while Ryan took his. I usually don't do that, but I just couldn't keep my eyes open today.
So here goes, Heather's 30 days of Thanksgiving list
1. I'm thankful that God loves me unconditionally, and accepts me with all my faults.
2. I'm thankful that I have Nick in my life. He's a wonderful man and a great father, and loves me so much.
3. I'm thankful for a wonderful son!!! I love my little boy so much, he's amazing!!
4. I'm thankful that I have a great dad who loves me, Nick, and Ryan. He's helped us so much, and I'm forever grateful for that.
5. I'm thankful for my brother, sister in law, and nephew. I love all of them so much!!! I miss them all terribly too!!! I would love them to live closer.
6. I'm thankful that we have found a wonderful church in Prattville to call home.
7. I'm thankful for my two best friends who are awesome!! Jennifer and Shari y'all are amazing, and are my sisters for life!! I love you girls!
8. I'm thankful for the friends I have made here in Millbrook and Prattville through our new church. I have to admit they are great people.
9. I'm thankful that my dad will babysit his grandson for us or just for me when we or I need a little break from all things baby/toddler.
10. I'm thankful for my in laws. They are such nice people, and help us when they can. I know they wish we lived closer.
11. I'm thankful that Nick is going back to college in January...even if it is at Auburn.
12. I'm thankful that God let me find Nick. I've never been happier in my life!!!!!
13. I'm thankful for my family members, both near and far.
14. I'm thankful that I live in the south, where we don't get much snow. I don't mind a little, but I'm not a fan of seeing it over and over.
15. I'm thankful for all the comforts of home. So many of us take them for granted when so many don't have them at this time of year.
16. I'm thankful to live in a free country.
17. I'm thankful for all of our military personnel. My dad proudly served for over 30 years before retiring.
18. I'm thankful that we found a place to live in Auburn. I was afraid we wouldn't since we have a tight budget to stick to. God blessed us though!!
19. I'm thankful for all of my pets. I'm such an animal lover, and my dogs and cats are like my children too...annoying children sometimes.
20. I'm thankful that my dad found happiness with someone again after losing my mom several years ago.
21. I'm thankful for the extended family I have. You may not be blood related, but you're family and that's what matters!!
22. I'm thankful that I can come up with so many things to be thankful for.
23. I'm thankful that my dad knows how to fry a turkey, I have no clue how to cook one.
24. It's Thanksgiving Day!!!! I'm thankful for all the great food I'm going to eat and the family and friends who are here with us.
25. I'm thankful that I'm not into black Friday. Oh wait...I did go shopping and found some great deals for myself and my family.
26. I'm thankful today because it's Saturday...time for the Iron Bowl!!!! Roll Tide!! I'm a true football fanatic!
27. I'm thankful that I got to go to church today and work in the nursery during church.
28. I'm thankful because my nephew turns 4 today!! I love my monkey!!
29. I'm thankful that I got through the day. This day is a very rough day for me. I lost my mother in 2008 on this day. Not a day goes by that I don't miss her. I'm so thankful for all the time that I got to spend with her though. She was an amazing woman!
30. I'm thankful that I found 30 reasons to be thankful for.
I will try to give thanks for the people and things in my life. I believe that being thankful is a 365 day thing, not just a one day or 30 day thing. Be thankful that you're alive, and rejoice in that!!
