A Thought and A List

I've decided to make a list. It's not a list of things I'd like to do this year, but things I'd like to do in my life time. I'm sure if I sit here long enough I'll be able to put together a massive list, and I'm pretty sure just sitting here for a few minutes will bring about a pretty good list without too much hard thinking. I guess you could call this my bucket list. So enjoy reading some of my crazy and simple things I'd like to do.

1. Watch the sun rise on the beach with just Nick sitting beside me
2. Have at least one more child...Nick is thinking 2 more, but I'm not so sure about that idea
3. Have a great 50th wedding anniversary party
4. See the New Orleans Saints play in the Superdome in New Orleans
5. See the Green Bay Packers play at Lambeau Field
6. Take a cruise with my family
7. Take my family to Disney World for a week
8. Go to New York for a vacation
9. Take Nick to Washington, D.C. since he's never been
10. Take a vacation down at the Florida Keys
11. Take a vacation in Hawaii
12. Donate my time to a worthy cause that will help someone in need
13. Finish college
14. Take a trip to Scotland

Now the list is started. I'm sure as time goes on I'll figure out more to add to it. I'll probably wind up posting another blog in the future about other things I'd like to do. I'll see what I can do about fulfilling all of these dreams now. Some will take longer to fulfill, but they will all be worth it.

New Year means New Things

Well I haven't blogged since the wedding, haven't really had the chance to with everything going on.
Here's the rundown on how busy we've been.
As soon as the wedding was over we started really packing up everything we could so we could move right after Christmas. Needless to say Christmas went by fast and here's hoping next year I'll be able to relax and really enjoy and get into the spirit of the season.
The day after Christmas Erin, Scott, and Joseph came back down for a week. I love having them here, wish they'd just move back down here with all of us.
We decided to move the Wednesday after Christmas, and oh my was that a crazy and busy day. I never realized how much stuff myself, Nick, and Ryan had accumulated. Of course Nick and I have both lived on our own before so we had all that stuff, plus everything we've accumulated together over the past couple of years. We also had all the furniture that we've bought for our new place, along with all the furniture we already had. I have to say having Erin and Scott here was a blessing because we needed the extra hands to help get it all here.
Now we start moving in and the fun begins. First we had trouble getting the water on due to a smart mouthed operator who didn't want to do her job. Needless to say we told our landlord about it and she took care of us and we had water on in a couple of hours. Oh and Nick complained to the water company the following week about the woman, and I really hope she got in trouble for how she treated us. Then we couldn't get the furnace on for heat for a couple of day, thank God for space heaters. Then once we got the gas turned on we found out that we still couldn't use it until a pipe was replaced. We've also had some other issues happen, but our landlords are great people who have taken care of everything within 24 hours of us reporting the problems.
So we've got the living room and Ryan's room almost completely done. The office and our room are nowhere near done getting organized, and the kitchen still needs some help. I'm hoping that in a week we can have it all done, because I think it will start to drive me crazy if I don't have organization soon.
Today Nick started school again, and I'm praying that it will go wonderful for him. He's determined to get great grades and get his civil engineering degree. I am so proud of him for doing this!
So there you go the past few weeks summed up in a blog post. We've been extremely busy and still haven't slown down. We still have so much more to do, but we're determined to get it all done. Now it's time for Ryan and I to sit back and enjoy the cloudy and slightly rainy day while Nick is gone.
We're taking Nick to dinner tonight, and then watching BAMA football!!!!
